Free comedy-music showcase Monday at SAK Comedy Lab

Sak Comedy Lab will host a free, live talent showcase at its CityArts Factory venue this Monday, Nov. 26. On the bill are four acts, which will offer stand¿up comedy, music and improvisation in this one-night-only extravaganza.

"I love a lot of styles of performing," says Chase Padgett, Orlando Fringe Festival favorite and Sak Comedy Lab veteran. "Improv, guitar, hip-hop, whatever… I love them all. My favorite though is when these styles merge and you get a cool mash-up. That's why I wanted to put together this talent showcase. Let's get the different audiences in Central Florida all in one room for a great night of entertainment."

The acts include Will Hagaman, a local stand-up comedian and comic actor who has also earned critical praise at the Fringe. He'll combine his blend of dry humor and music in an act that recently took him to the semi-finals of the Florida's Funniest Comedian contest.

Padgett will cover favorite songs on acoustic guitar and will also perform as part of the Flow Bros Freestyle. That new project sees Padgett as a one-man backup band as two top freestylers create a live hip-hop concert based on anything and everything happening around them.

Rounding out the night will be Sak Comedy Lab's improv comedy.

How can this be free, the cynic in you asks?

The answer: A full house is desired as the event is being filmed for future promotional use.

The showcase, rated PG-13, begins at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Sak Comedy Lab, 29 S. Orange. Ave., Orlando.
